A. If the rich got their money out before the crash of 1929 they were OK. Most didn't take their money out because they thought their stocks would go even higher. When then crash hit everyone suffered. there were no jobs and no welfare. Lots of people died either because suicide or starvation. Each year people thought the economy would come back. Thousands were out of work and were looked down upon and called bums. They were treated like garbage by the rich and the politicians. This went on for ten years until War broke out and people joined up for the war. Then they got paid descent wages and women became the main work force.

A. It depends on your definition of rich, and on how patient you are. If you want to start with little money, and become a billionaire in 2 years, forget it. You're just dreaming. If you invest 15-20% of your income consistently and patiently over time, with an eye towards the long-term goal instead of short-term gambling, people of average incomes can have an excellent chance of eventually becoming millionaires, or multi-millionaires. But you have to do your research, and act carefully and thoughtfully. Naturally, most people prefer the "easy" quick-riches route, which is almost certainly doomed to failure, instead of the "hard" patient slow route, which has a very good chance of success.

What's the mentality of the Rich that makes them work when they can retire luxuriously?
Q. When a rich person has $50 million or $100 million, why do they still work? When you have that much money, another few million does not matter in living the lifestyle. Either way, it usually can't be spent. So what is the mentality that makes them work for more money?

A. Work provides a sense of worth and accomplishment that goes beyond "just the money." You make "the mentality" sound like a disorder. It isn't.
