Amway/Quixtar ..... Scam or Legitimate Business Venture .....?
Q. I know there are People who have made a successful career out of promoting Amway/Quixtar but I have heard some horror stories. I have also purchased products from those who sell them. I just want to know what others think about these companies. Thumbs up to all who answer. Just give me time to get back and read them. Thanks!

A. Great product line.. great people... like all businesses - there will be some bad apples - and those who encounter them will be left with a bad taste in their mouth. Now for the bad news: Amway takes work. It takes commitment. Most of the people who try it WILL fail. It takes a special kind of commitment to make any business work - especially a multi-level marketing business. I didn't have that kind of commitment. I failed. The difference between me and others, though - is that I recognize the problem was me, not Amway. Most others who fail will fail at lots of other things, too - because they never identify the root cause of their failure - themselves. I've grown a lot since my Amway days - but I've learned the only thing I… [cont.]

Quixtar Amway scam/cult/brainwashing?
Q. My husband is sucked into this Quixtar scam. He has been a part of it for over a decade - Well before we met. After 10+ years he still thinks this is the year . Not one client and a million over-priced items later, here we sit. I am a financial controller and he still will not see the facts with all that I have presented before him. He is brainwashed. How do I get him out of this mode of thinking and going on to start a legitimate business?

A. Well, honestly I have been in that company myself and so were MANY (over 15) of my closest friends and we wasted money instead of earning it. A lot of people just aren't cut out for quixtar unless you can change up your name brand buying habits the second you start. In addition to the spending habits the product they sell people just flat out dont need. I know they sell all types of grocery items and such but I know i can get something name brand cheaper. Direct him to my myspace and even add me as a friend, I would gladly tell him my up and downs and the ups and downs of my friends that are in quixtar. He needs to speak to someone, and someone that has been in it. He doesn't pay attention to others if they aren't doing it as well.

Being sucked into Quixtar?
Q. I'm no expert on the whole Quixtar/Amway operation, but I have heard bad things about it. Most of what I see on the net are claims that it's a scam and something to steer clear of. My problem is that my boyfriend is very interested in joining Quixtar. A friend of his has been talking to him about it, and trying to pull him in to work under him. At first it sounded like a great idea, but too good to be true. My boyfriend went to a meeting presented by Hal Newball, and was slightly skeptical. However, while he sees more and more of it's downsides and corruptive nature, he's still interested and says that he'll probably join. This is something that I don't like at all. It's screaming "scam" and "wrong" right in my face. My warnings and… [cont.]

A. About 5 years ago, a friend at work approached me to hang out with him and see this business opportunity that SOMEONE on the STREET came to him with. I decided to go because he was a good friend. The guy that did the presentation for us was very very slick and knew all the ins and outs of the Quixtar company. The presentation made it seem like there were thousands to be made each week. Needless to say, my friend joined but I stayed away. We still keep in touch but he says that to this day it was the worst decision he has made because of all the time and effort he put into it and got so little in return; and he was a very very ambitious person with excellent communication skills and positive attitude. I told him ' what a waste of your… [cont.]
